Canadian pop artist Yung Leo, recently released her captivating new single “Too Good,” on June 7 via Believe Digital on all streaming platforms.
Produced by Lucas Liberatore aka Luca The Producer (Marie Mai, Johnny Orlando, Preston Pablo), “Too Good” is a vibrant pop anthem that celebrates moving on from a toxic relationship. Its captivating melodies, relatable lyrics, and energizing drum and bass rhythm create an empowering earworm that uplifts listeners, fostering a sense of liberation and self-confidence.
Unapologetically herself, Yung Leo’s sound is filled with authenticity. Recently chosen as the iHeart Radio ”Future Star”, she has been making a name for herself on the Canadian pop scene as her career accolades continue to grow.
The Montreal-based artist has found her musical identity blending indie-pop elements with radio-worthy melodies. She has accumulated over 600,000 streams to date and reached #24 on the Canadian Top 40 chart with her single ”Habit”.
With a new body of work on the way and several singles being released this year, Yung Leo’s feel-good sound will make you want to dance and sing along in your living room.

I had the opportunity to chat with Yung Leo about her musical journey, her new single and what’s next.
Kat: Can you share with us a bit about yourself and your musical journey so far?
Yung Leo: Hey! Nice to meet ya! My name is Yung Leo. I’m a singer-songwriter and pop artist from Montreal, Canada, where I’m currently based. I started playing music at the age of 4, growing up in a household where music was as important—if not more so—than academics. By the age of 16, I shifted from formal music education to playing in several bands with friends. I loved writing and being able to approach things through intuition and feeling. My song ”Cold” was my first commercial success as a solo artist. Being able to write openly about suicidality and seeing people positively relate to it inspired me to continue making music that resonates on a deep level.
Kat: Can you share a little of the inspiration behind your new single “Too Good”?
Yung Leo: “‘Too Good’ is about moving on from a bad relationship – the kind that damages your self-esteem and leaves you feeling broken. I wanted to write a song about my own experience of getting out of that dreadful space – using spirituality amongst other things.
Kat: What do you hope fans take away from the track?
Yung Leo: I hope it fuels their courage to keep going when a situation seems desperate. Self-esteem is everything. It makes the difference between tolerating abuse and choosing a healthy relationship. It’s not a given for many people. I hope this song serves as a reminder that each and every one of us deserves to be treated with respect.
Kat: What has been a career highlight for you so far?
Yung Leo: Career highlights are too fleeting for me to hold onto. Don’t get me wrong; I’m very grateful for all the opportunities I’ve had recently and in the past. However, my real pride, and what I want to remember, are the relationships I’ve built with the beautiful and talented people I call my team, and with my fans.
Kat: What have you learned along the way? Do you have anything that you would like to share with other aspiring artists and creators?
Yung Leo: Trust your instincts. You won’t always be right, but you’ll be less wrong than if you ignore them. Making mistakes is part of the process. Stay true to yourself, and surround yourself with people who share your values.
Kat: What else can fans expect from you for the balance of 2024?
Yung Leo: I’m currently working on an album, but we’re still in the early stages. In the meantime, I’ll be releasing a couple more singles. The last few months have been incredibly creatively exciting. I wish I could share more, but just stay tuned. My Instagram account is the best place to keep updated.
