Child actress Zoe Kosovic stars in the highly anticipated film adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s Reminders of Him, hitting theatres March 13.
Zoe, an exciting young rising star, plays the role of Diem Landry, an imaginative and sharp-witted young girl who brings light and humour to those around her, even as she unknowingly navigates the emotional turmoil surrounding her. Zoe stars alongside Lauren Graham, Maika Monroe, Rudy Pankow and Rudy Pankow in the film.
Reminders Of Him: Following a perfect outing with her boyfriend, Kenna makes an unbearable mistake that sends her to prison for seven years. Hoping to rebuild her life after her release, she tries to reunite with her daughter played by Zoe, but her custodial grandparents refuse to let Kenna see her. She soon finds unexpected compassion from a local bar owner as their secret romance gives Kenna hope for a second chance.
Zoe is already making a mark in Hollywood at just six years old, with early credits including The Smashing Machine starring alongside Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt, and Unspeakable: The Murder of JonBenét, where she portrayed JonBenét at four years old opposite Melissa McCarthy and Clive Owen. She also appears in Netflix’s upcoming feature Guarding Stars, alongside Andie MacDowell, Leighton Meester, and Jared Padalecki, further cementing her growing presence in the industry.

I had the opportunity to chat with Zoe about her role, what fans can expect and more.
Kat: What was your favorite part about playing Diem in “Reminders of Him”?
Zoe: I loved playing Diem because we are so much alike and we like a lot of the same things. She is happy and has fun a lot.
Kat: How would you describe Diem to someone who hasn’t seen the movie yet?
Zoe: She lives with her Nana and Nono. Diem is 5 years old. She is talented and funny. She loves animals, especially dogs. Her favorite color is yellow. Diem likes to have fun. She loves her family. She especially loves her cowboy boots.
Kat: What was the most fun scene you got to film?
Zoe: I loved every scene I was in, but my favourite might’ve been one of the last scenes where I got to act with Maika, Tyriq, Lauren and Bradley in the same day and also a turtle, which was super cool. I also got to play in the jungle gym which was fun too.
Kat: Did you have a favorite person to work with on set, like Lauren Graham or Maika Monroe?
Zoe: I liked acting with all of them. Tyriq and I were so close even when we weren’t acting. We were besties and spent a lot of time together. It was nice acting with Maika too because she is my mom in it and she didn’t do too many scenes with me, so when we did get to be together, it was nice and fun. Lauren was the best Nana and very nice to me, and the same with Bradley. Me and Rudy didn’t have scenes together, but we spent time together and he was always super nice.
Kat: What kinds of things did you and the cast or crew do to have fun between scenes?
Zoe: I had lunch with Tyriq a lot and sometimes Maika too. We played with my magnet balls called Zinger balls and with Shopkins and slime. We spent a lot of time playing in Diem’s room also because her room was really fun. I loved playing in my pretend kitchen with actors and crew and dressing up and dressing people up too. We would have Taylor Swift dance parties too.
Kat: Diem is very imaginative, do you like to use your imagination in real life too?
Zoe: Yes. I love using my imagination, especially playing pretend kitchen and sometimes real kitchen, and I make all kinds of dishes. I draw and make up stories to my drawings too. I play with and make magic potions. I also play pretend with my dolls a lot.
Kat: Was there anything about acting in this movie that felt new or a little challenging?
Zoe: The scene where Diem holds the turtle was a tiny little bit challenging because I had to be careful not to drop the cute little turtle, but I also had to say my lines, but it wasn’t too challenging because it was fun.
Kat: What do you hope people feel when they watch the movie and see your character?
Zoe: I hope they feel happy when they see Diem and laugh at some of the funny things she says and does.
Kat: You’ve already worked on some big projects, what has been your favorite thing about being an actor so far?
Zoe: It is so much fun playing make-believe, and I love it. I hate when I am wrapped each day, it makes me sad. I like getting to meet new people and I also love all the free food you get because I love snacks.
Kat: If you could play any kind of character next, like a superhero, a princess, or something else, what would you choose?
Zoe: Someone who has superpowers like Eleven from Stranger Things. I never thought about being a princess before, but that would be fun.
