About The Movie:
A gorgeous, French multi-millionaire comes to Montana to do a deal and photo shoot with a major cosmetics company and meets the woman of his dreams – the beautiful Art Director on his shoot. When the two jet off to Paris on a whirlwind Christmas adventure, they each think that their happiness could last forever. But in the middle of their magical Parisian getaway, she discovers a secret about him that could push them apart forever. Based on the best-selling Harlequin book “A Fortune of Texas Christmas.”
We had the opportunity to chat with star Karl E. Landler about his role, holiday traditions and family.
Kat: Was there anything about your role that was particularly challenging?
Karl: It can be challenging at times to act in a language that’s not your own – especially when the emotions kick in and you are all fired up – but I love a challenge:)) It was also super cold, I had a scene just with my shirt and tie, feeling quite dapper – but was completely upstaged by my chattering teeth. And of course – the catering. It was amazing. So trying to stay fit with all this tempting food. THAT was really challenging.
Kat: What was your favorite scene to shoot and why? (without giving away spoilers)
Karl: There are so many for different reasons. I really loved the part of the film we shot in France. I had auditioned from Los Angeles, the production flew me to Canada and then to France for the Parisian’s scenes ! It was such fun having the Canadian Crew with me in my country and sharing the great wine and food we have to offer! Plus it was the very first days of shooting, which was perfect to connect in the best possible way with my Co Star Rebecca Dalton (Robin). We were so Jet lagged during the day, we could not stop laughing and cracking jokes. A lot of of what we did in France, was improv- so there was plenty of room for silly jokes – I’m glad they put music over it, cause you don’t want hear what I was saying after an entire day of shooting – lol. One of my favorite things was meeting Daphne Zuniga, which was one of my favorites actresses to watch back in the days of “Melrose Place” – Picture me, from a small town in the south of France, watching her show everyday – fast forward to sharing scenes with her on the other side of the ocean. What a treat!
Kat: Do you have a favorite Christmas movie?
Karl: I am action guy so it’s got to be DIE HARD, a classic!
Kat: Do you or your family have any special holiday traditions?
Karl: We are a small gang and very close. So we understand the importance of not being alone for Christmas. A great time of the year to make up -maybe say sorry to someone you hurt and check in -pick up the phone to check on your friends and make sure they are not alone for the holidays. SO, as a family -we did that. Always sharing Christmas with friends and family and of course our Mum made sure there was more food on the table, than we could bargain for ! lol – food is everything.
Kat: What’s the best Christmas present you’ve ever received?
Karl: Really hard to say. I had a cool childhood, normal I would say. Always had little toys and great friendship from my peers. But I think, maybe the best present I ever got, was from my sister- a “free-out- of- jail- card” :)) allowing her little brother to be more annoying than usual for the day . We were little hurricanes in the house. Lol. Joyeux Noël !
