The Los Angeles-based Pop/R&B artist originally from Israel, draws from her Middle Eastern roots. Her lyrics delve deep into personal struggles with mental health, including anxiety, depression, and low self-esteem, with the goal of raising awareness and sparking conversation around these important issues. Through her music, Yarin hopes to connect with listeners and empower them to embrace their own strength, vulnerability, and self-love. With influences ranging from Rihanna to Lana Del Rey and Billie Eilish, her sound is a unique blend of introspection and empowerment.

I had the opportunity to chat with Yarin about the inspiration behind her new track “Rebel”, mental health and what’s next.

Kat: “Rebel” is such a powerful anthem about individuality — can you talk about the personal experiences that inspired the song and what it means to you today?

Yarin: It’s about owning who I am. Growing up, I always felt like I didn’t fit into what people expected. “Rebel” is me saying I’m done playing by anyone else’s rules.

Kat: You’ve shared that growing up as a tomboy came with a lot of pressure to conform—how did those early challenges shape your sense of identity and artistry?

Yarin: They made me realize I wasn’t meant to blend in. I learned to express myself through music and style instead of trying to fit into a mold.

Kat: The production on “Rebel” is upbeat and danceable, yet the message is deeply empowering—how did you find the balance between fun and meaningful in this track?

Yarin: That was the goal. I wanted it to be something you could dance to but still feel strong listening to it. It’s fun but it’s got something to say.

Kat: You worked with producers from Tommy Brown’s team—what was that collaboration like and how did it influence the sound of the single?

Yarin: They just got it. I came in with a clear vision and they brought it to life in such a powerful way. It felt natural and elevated.

Kat: Your upcoming EP Human explores different sides of you—how does “Rebel” fit into the larger story you’re telling with this project?

Yarin: “Rebel” shows my bold, fearless side. The EP is about all the layers that make me human, and this is the part that doesn’t care about playing nice.

Kat: Your music often touches on mental health — why is it important for you to use your platform to start those conversations?

Yarin: Because I’ve been through it. Music helped me feel less alone, and I want to be that for someone else.

Kat: You’ve been recognized by major outlets and toured internationally — how have those milestones impacted your growth both as a person and as a performer?

Yarin: They gave me confidence. Touring taught me how much I love connecting with people and the press love reminded me to keep going.

Kat: You draw from your Middle Eastern roots—how do your cultural influences come through in your music or storytelling?

Yarin: It’s in the melodies, the energy, even my attitude sometimes. It’s a part of me so it shows up without me even trying.

Kat: Your music’s been described as Rihanna bold, Lana introspective, Billie edgy—how do you see your own voice standing out?

Yarin: I think I blend vulnerability with confidence in a way that’s real. I’m not afraid to show both sides at once.

Kat: What do you hope listeners walk away with after hearing “Rebel” or the full EP?

Yarin: That it’s okay to be messy, loud, soft, confident, insecure—all of it. You don’t have to be perfect to be powerful.
