Josie Davis stars as Alice Stewart in “Festival Of Trees” a new, original movie premiering November 24 (7PM ET), on UPtv as part of the network’s 2024 Most Uplifting Christmas Ever programming event.

About The Movie: Jacquie Miller is an interior designer desperate to catch a break. The city’s annual Festival of Trees decorating competition, known for putting local artists on the map, may be just the answer! But competing with the city’s top designers is not for the faint of heart. With the help of her quirky assistant, a charming stranger and an inspirational young girl, Jacquie embarks on a humor-filled and heart-warming journey to create a tree that will knock the stockings off Santa himself.

I had the opportunity to chat with Josie about her role, what she hopes the audience connects with and what’s next.

Kat: What inspired you to take on a role in “Festival of Trees”?

Josie: It was a chance to have a ton of fun being such a ridiculous person! I love the chance to create and I got to do this here!

Kat: Can you tell us more about your character and her journey in the movie?

Josie: I’m the villain and more insecure than I reveal but in a couple of moments of vulnerability but mostly cover it with delusions of grandeur.

Kat: What was it like bringing this holiday story to life on screen?

Josie: So much fun! Drew the director is an actor so an actor’s director which is the best! He totally got what I was doing and valued it which meant so much! My sidekicks who play my assistants and I were able to create our dynamics off screen when we entered, we brought a whole world and energy with us that was so full. The extras in the scenes with us were dying to take pictures with us even though we were so evil! We had so much fun together!

Kat: Were there any heartwarming or memorable moments on set that stood out to you?

Josie: All of my scenes with them were so fun and creative. Just the best!

Kat: How did you connect with the festive spirit while filming? Any holiday traditions you incorporated?

Josie: I did videos of the gorgeous trees that I will be posting on my social media soon!

Kat: What makes “Festival of Trees” different from other holiday films you’ve been a part of

Josie: It’s the first I’ve done!

Kat: What do you hope audiences will take away from this movie?

Josie: Laughter, hope, faith, love, and a lesson or two learned! I wish more people thought of others and were altruistic. If everyone did their part and were of service to others the world would be a happier place!

Kat: Do you have a favorite scene or moment in the film that you can’t wait for viewers to see?

Josie: The crazy world my assistants bring in…Nicole and Aaron and me. They were so funny.

Kat: What’s next for you after “Festival of Trees”? Are there any upcoming projects you’re excited about?

Josie: I’m in a new movie, playing the comedic villain again, which is so weird, opposite James Remar in Glowzies. I have two tv projects with verbal commitments but not signed yet. I’m writing a memoir so can’t wait to finish that. It’s taking a lot of time. I’m actually writing it myself! I’m also venturing out to produce my first movie. Thank you!
