Cory Lee stars in “Baking All The Way” a new, original movie that premiered on November 24 on the Lifetime Channel (US) and Vortex Media will be releasing the film in theatres one night only across Canada on December 5. Following this, the film will receive its broadcast Canadian premiere on Super Channel Heart & Home on December 10.
Cory also recorded a just-released original song for the movie called “Suddenly Feels Like Christmas“.
Cory portrays Julia Wilson, an accomplished pastry chef from Chicago, who heads to a small town bakery famous for their gingerbread to complete her Christmas cookbook curated with recipes from across the country. She finds herself at odds with Kris Thompson, the bakery’s charming but private owner, who is ambivalent about sharing his secret recipe.

I had the opportunity to chat with Cory about her role, what she hopes the audience connects with and what’s next.
Kat: You’re in an exciting new holiday movie, how did you prepare for the role? Did you find any similarities between yourself and your character?
Cory: Since BAKING ALL THE WAY was my first leading role I was filled with so many emotions, a beautiful mix of joy, excitement and nerves. I over prepared because that’s what I do when I am nervous. I loved bringing the role of Julia to life. Julia Wilson is a lady that doesn’t take no for an answer and I can 100 percent relate to that! I have had to create my own opportunities so many times. Cory Lee does not take no for an answer either!
Kat: Was there anything about your role that was particularly challenging?
Cory: To be honest I loved every moment of the movie. I truly feel that I manifested this moment for myself. It was the most work I have ever done on a film like this, but I cherished every second.

Kat: What were some of your favorite scenes to shoot and why?
Cory: I loved shooting the snowball fight! I was actually hit in the face with a snowball and they used that shot in the movie.
Kat: Feel-good movies are more popular now than ever, what message do you hope fans take away from these types of movies?
Cory: At the heart of BAKING ALL THE WAY is family and home. We are all searching to feel loved and connected. I truly hope everyone that watches the movie feels that!
Kat: You also recorded an original song for the movie called “Suddenly Feels Like Christmas”, what was that process like and what did it mean to you, to have your song featured?
Cory: My happiest place is when I can combine my love of acting and music. Watching the trailer for the first time was a bucket list moment for me. Not only to be a leading lady but to also have a song in it as well. I dreamed of this moment.
Kat: Do you have a favorite holiday movie?
Cory: My fav holiday movie is ELF and I can’t wait to see the new Will Ferrell movie called SPIRITED!
Kat: What’s next?
Cory: I am blessed to live the life I do. I love working. This year I have actually scaled back the amount of roles I have taken and started thinking more about the long term future. I want to motivate and inspire others. I now have my sights set on writing and directing as well as more roles that challenge me.
