Stars:  Julianna Guill, Jon Cor, and Meredith Baxter

About The Movie:

Brooke (Julianna Guill), a young marketing executive, goes back to her hometown excited to relive her Christmas memories, while helping a struggling family-owned winery. Her marketing assignment involves an unlikely partnership with Tyler (Jon Corr), the charismatic, yet stubborn owner of the winery. Brooke quickly learns that the town’s Christmas spirit has disappeared due to a wine conglomerate buying out all of the local wineries. Determined to bring Christmas back to the town, Brooke and Tyler work together and discover they share more than a love for wine.

We had the opportunity to chat with star Jon Cor about his role, holiday traditions and family.

Kat: Was there anything about your role that was particularly challenging?

Jon: Ha! Well, I remember expecting some kind of dance rehearsal at one point, which, of course, due to a necessarily spontaneous push in our schedule, we had very little time for. I move well, I’m an experienced martial artist with a background in gymnastics and tricking, but boy oh boy did I feel silly and kind of caught off guard. [laughs] Fortunately, the lovely and talented Julianna Guill who plays Brooke, my character Tyler’s love interest, was happy to lead, and lead well.

Kat: What was your favorite scene to shoot and why?

Jon: Um-um-ummm… Hm. Everything in Whistler, BC, probably. The weather was so very beautiful at the time. It also wasn’t until the end of the shoot that the pandemic hit. So, yeah! I like working outdoors, in extreme conditions and remote locations. Adds a sense of adventure and personal development to the experience of making a movie as you travel to new places, meet new people, and try new things. Just being up in the mountains for a few days, in the cool air, was tremendous.

Kat: What do you hope the audience takes away from the movie?

Jon: That it’s not all bad right now? [laughs] Movies like this serve to bring a sense of peace and ease to their viewers. A happy ending you can count on, with a lot of heart and warmth along the way.

Kat: What’s your favorite Christmas movie?

Jon: Batman Returns. Not kidding.

Kat: Do you or your family have any special holiday traditions?

Jon: Well, a lot has changed over the years… Currently, I’m just hoping to be able to see everyone! Not sure what the COVID climate will be come late December, or where my family and friends will be and in which configurations, exactly. We’ll see, we’ll see.

Kat: What’s the best Christmas present you’ve ever received?

Jon: Oh, wow! Ha! Not sure how to answer this one without sounding infinitely cheesy, but a few sincere words and a lot of laughs is all that I ask for and look forward to and need; and each and every year, I find myself floored with joy and gratitude as a result of all of the deeply intelligent, kind, generous, sensitive, hilarious, talented, grounded, strong, and loving people in my life. The best gift really and truly is the time we spend together.
