Located at Queen and Spadina, “Butter Avenue offers an evolving selection of desserts and pastries created using classic French confectionary cookery and techniques.” All pastries are made with natural ingredients and without any added artificial flavours or preservatives.
I’d been following their Instagram page for awhile, and couldn’t wait to visit. We tried some of their Valentine’s Day Specials including their brand new Be My Valentine tart, made with Butter Avenue’s signature raspberry macaron covered in light Earl Grey crème, with a cookie tart filled with 70% dark chocolate cremeux, soft raspberry chiffon cake and topped with crispy chocolate balls & gold flakes!
We also tried the the elegant Ma Chérie, a Valentine’s Day mousse cake made with 100% strawberry purée mousse, guava creameux, vanilla white chocolate brownie and macaron. As well as my personal favorite the Choux a la Crème Dark Chocolate Raspberry with choux pastry filled with dark chocolate chantilly, raspberry jam and fresh raspberries.
