About The Movie:

Pediatric specialist Tasha Miller is focused on one thing; keeping the kids in her ward as healthy and happy as possible. So when her high-school crush, who just happens to be handsome Prince Alexander Cavalieri, breaks his leg on a nearby ski-slope, Tasha is forced to allow him to secretly get well on her floor, and she’s furious that a spoiled Royal is interrupting the precious healing time her kids so badly need. Soon, however, Tasha learns that some tough love and a lot of Christmas spirt, could turn this royal pain into a knight in shining armor. Based on the best-selling Harlequin book “St. Piran’s: Prince On The Children’s Ward.”

We had the opportunity to catch up with star Kaitlyn Leeb and discuss her role, the best Christmas present she’s ever received and holiday traditions.

Kat: Was there anything about your role that was particularly challenging?

Kaitlyn: Like a lot of Christmas movies, Christmas with a Prince was filmed in the heat of summer. Luckily for us, all of our scenes were shot interior which helped A LOT. Wearing clothes that we should be wearing in the dead of winter…in July… can be tough. But there were some interior shots where the heat was getting to us, that’s for sure. Another aspect of the script that I found challenging was dealing with the fact we were set in a children’s hospital, filled with “sick children” doing treatments, surgeries, etc. Being a Mom of a 2 year old daughter, it really hit home for me and there were times it was hard to not think about the reality that there are families out there celebrating Christmas’ in the hospital with their little children.

Kat: What was your favorite scene to shoot and why? (without giving away spoilers)

Kaitlyn: I think the “staircase scene” right before we go to the ball was one of my favourite scenes to shoot. It was like fulfilling a childhood dream of being a princess, walking down a grand beautiful staircase and seeing a Prince at the bottom waiting for you in awe lol. It was such a cute scene to shoot. The decor and wardrobe were beautiful. It felt like it was Tasha’s grand reveal in her gown. Also, shooting scenes with Charles Shaughnessy was such a pleasure. He’s so talented, it was truly an honour to act alongside him. I also grew up watching “The Nanny” so it was quite nostalgic for me.

Kat: Do you or your family have any special holiday traditions?

Kaitlyn: A Christmas tradition I grew up with was we were always allowed to open just one Christmas present as soon as we woke up, so my brother, sister and I would carefully look through each wrapped present trying to choose wisely for our one gift to open. After that, my Mom would make us a special breakfast, like waffles or pancakes, something very delicious and very different from our regular breakfast cereal routine, and then we would all sit around the tree and open gifts as a family. Now that I have a family of my own, we try to come up with our own little traditions, even as simple as the one I had, so hopefully she can grow up with such great memories of Christmas and family as well.

Kat: What is the best Christmas present you’ve ever received?

Kaitlyn: The best Christmas present I ever received was finding out I was pregnant with my daughter and then sharing that news with our families on Christmas day. It was very special and something I will never forget.

Kat: What do you hope fans take away from the movie?

Kaitlyn: I hope fans can watch Christmas with a Prince and have all the feels you should have while watching Christmas movies. Christmas with a Prince is such a great family holiday movie that anyone at any age can enjoy. So I hope it brings people together, families together, or just helps put someone in the holiday spirit.

Don’t miss Christmas With A PrinceSunday, December 9th at 7 pm ET!
