Fast Romantics have been blurring the lines between modern indie-rock and classic pop for some time, carving their own unique path into ears around the world. But with their latest release American Love, the world is paying much more attention to this fast growing Toronto-based band. Led by singer-songwriter Matthew Angus, Fast Romantics have begun to earn a loyal following with their irresistible pop hooks, anthemic live shows, and Angus’ emotive and personal approach to lyricism, often infused with the political and social chaos of the times.
We caught up with Kirty from Fast Romantics to discuss holiday movies, her favorite Christmas gift as a child and the holiday song that melts her heart.
Kat: Do you have a favorite holiday or Christmas memory?
Kirty: Every and all Christmas memories. Also, getting up at 4am every Christmas morning to my parents’ exhausted faces.
Kat: Do you have a favorite holiday movie?
Kirty: HOME ALONE (1)…..and 2
Kat: What was your favorite gift you received as a kid?
Kirty: GT Racer. Which we then strapped to the back of our snowmobile with a rope, and whipped around the field until you fell off…. then your turn was over.
Kat: Do you have a favorite holiday song?
Kirty: I’ll Be Home for Christmas (heart melt)
Kat: Favorite holiday treat?
Kirty: Turkey and pie and apple cider and clementine’s and bourbon.
