The Hallmark Channel recently released their list of new movies for the 2017 holiday season as part of their ‘Countdown To Christmas‘
Premiering on Saturday, December 9th at 8/7c is “The Christmas Cottage” Starring Merritt Patterson and Steve Lund

About The Movie:
Still only in her mid-twenties, Lacey Quinn has already given up on love. Her heart’s been broken too many times, and now she concentrates on her career as an interior designer in Raleigh, North Carolina. When BFF Ava Callahan asks Lacey to be her maid of honor, she must take on a few responsibilities, including making sure the Callahan family cottage is perfect for the honeymoon. Legend has it that if newlyweds spend their first night there, everlasting love and happiness follow. Lacey isn’t sure she buys into that notion. Still, when she finds herself snowed in there with Charlie, Ava’s brother, Lacey has to reconsider if the little house may hold some romantic magic after all — especially at Christmas.
We had the opportunity to catch up with star Merritt Patterson about her role, her favorite holiday movie and her best Christmas gift.
Kat: Was there anything about your role that was particularly challenging?
MP: The most challenging part of this role was that I was in every scene of the movie! It’s unusual that you’re in literally every scene but it was fun to be so involved!
Kat: What was your favorite scene to shoot and why? (without giving away spoilers)
MP: I enjoyed shooting the scenes where all of the cast were there. We all got along really well and there were always a lot of laughs. Steve and I also learned to Waltz which was really fun!
Kat: Do you have a favorite Christmas movie?
MP: Love Actually but if I’m going for a classic probably the stop-motion Rudolph The Red Nose Reindeer.
Kat: Do you or your family have any special holiday traditions?
MP: We go skiing every Christmas morning which I always look forward too. We also always chop down our own Christmas tree.
Kat: What’s the best Christmas present you’ve ever received?
MP: I’ve had so many great Christmas gifts! One year my sister and I both got ski’s and that was incredible.
Don’t miss the premiere of “The Christmas Cottage” on Saturday, December 9th at 8/7c !
When Lacey takes a rare break from work for her friend Avas Christmas Eve wedding, she reconnects with her former flame, Ean. The two decorate the cottage where the newlyweds will spend their honeymoon a cottage said to bring true love to anyone who stays there and feel their chemistry return. Lacey, however, is dating her equally workaholic business partner, Roger, who arrives just before the wedding. With Roger in town Lacey sees the sharp contrast between Eans family values and Rogers sole focus on work, and must decide if the professional goals she shares with Roger or the connection and history she shares with Ean are more important in a lasting relationship. I loved the posting on the “Cottage”. I have seen the movie several times and each time noticed something to reinforce my good opinion of the acting. Can not wait to see Merritt in another Hallmark movie.
