Singer-songwriters and producers YASSiN and Sean Terrio continue their collaborative momentum with the release of their latest single, Right Here Right Now, featuring Charissa. Released on via Why Aren’t You Home Records, the track blends reflective lyricism with warm alternative-pop textures, capturing a message of presence, resilience, and forward movement. With Right Here Right Now, the duo deliver a thoughtful anthem about letting go of expectations and embracing the journey ahead, one moment at a time.
I had the opportunity to chat with YASSiN about the duo’s latest single, what they hope fans connect with and what’s next.
Kat: Can you talk about the inspiration behind your “Right Here, Right Now”?
YASSiN: Hello! Yassin here! This song started with a hook that popped into Sean’s head. “Right Here right now just ahead” We’re no spring chickens when it comes to the music business, being in our 30s and chasing our dream comes with challenges. For a long while it felt like it was getting harder by the day, but then this song arrived in our lives. It’s about prioritizing your dreams and remaining hopeful about the things that bring you joy. The things you’ve wanted will happen, most likely not in the way you imagined them, but if you keep going, good things are bound to happen, and this song reminds us of that.
Kat: What do you hope fans take from the track?
YASSiN: We hope that fans listen to this song and feel comfort in knowing they’re not alone, if they’re pursing something and its doesn’t seem to be working out. We also hope can inspire some action if someone has a dream but is too nervous to try. Also we hope people have some lovely “stank faces” When they hear that big vocal at the end of the bridge.
Kat: What has been a career highlight for you so far? What have you learned along the way?
YASSiN: We’ve been lucky enough to have a few that have meant the world to us. We still remember the first show we did when fans sang our lyrics back to us. Something that just happened recently though…We put on an annual charity show around the holidays called Rock The Halls. Not only was last years our biggest ever, but we raised over 12 GRAND for Daily Bread Food Bank! So we’re pretty jazzed about that.
Kat: What’s next for YASSiN & Sean Terrio?
YASSiN: Next up for us is finishing our second record! We are pretty much at the finish line with it, so we’re going to spend the rest of the winter and spring doing that before we hit the road in the summer!
