Breakout genre-bending duo, YASSiN & Sean Terrio recently released their new breezy, lovestruck single “Time Alone,” on all streaming platforms via Believe Digital.
Produced by YASSiN and mixed by multi-platinum and JUNO Award-winning mix engineer Jay Dufour (Kiesza, Donovan Woods), “Time Alone” is a radiant high-energy pop track that pairs bubbly summer vibes with a warm undercurrent of romantic uncertainty. It’s a playful yet introspective take on the search for connection.
Known for their fearless genre-defying music rooted in soul, blues, and pop, and sharp sense of humor, the pair have also amassed over 90 million views and 150,000 followers across TikTok and Instagram. This year, they’re keeping the momentum going with new music, standout live performances, and a growing presence on and off stage, continuing to turn heads with music that’s as emotionally resonant as it is fun.

I had the opportunity to chat with Sean about the duo’s new single, their musical journey so far, and what’s next.
Kat: Can you talk about the inspiration behind your latest single “Time Alone”?
Sean: Sean here—To me, Time Alone is part of a story about an introvert role-playing as an extrovert, but more specifically the prospect of this character finding real, good love. For some people, we can sometimes hesitate when a good thing comes along. For whatever reason we can become reluctant to accept these truly good and pure opportunities and instead come up with a reason as to why we should not pursue it, or that we are unworthy. I think Time Alone is this character processing this in real-time, not jumping right in but also not immediately running away.
Kat: What do you hope fans take from the track?
Sean: I believe a lot of folks can relate to the scenario you are thrown into when you’re unsure of yourself, you’re eager to find something new, and want to move forward at your own pace. Whether it’s potential love, a new path in life or any new thing you are adding to your days, we might face this and feel we are alone. The reality appears to be that we are a bunch of people experiencing generally the same things, but within our own little worlds. Our lives are very different on some levels and, perhaps, they are even more similar on another.
Plus, it’s a fun, catchy track with a very feel-good vibe.
Kat: What do you find is the most challenging part of your creative process?
Sean: To be honest, I think it’s we that tend to pose the largest hurdle. It seems that a lot of life involves getting out of your own way and just showing up. You may question: Does this make sense? Does this sound good? Do I like this?!
Of course, there may be several other barriers, but especially with song writing, it feels largely about how you are experiencing what you are. I have evidence in my own life to show what good can happen when you give things a shot, and I need to continuously remind myself of this.
Kat: What has been a career highlight for you so far? What have you learned along the way?
Sean: There are certain performances, venues we’ve played and people we’ve met that seem to validate our path and the work we’ve been doing. Having something come along, like a checkpoint in a long adventure, that solidifies the feelings you started out with, cannot be understated. It’s hard to choose one, but for both YASSiN and I, I think our favourite highlight is the next one.
As one gets further into a journey from where they started, stacking up whichever milestones you have, you get these small, lucid moments where you look back at the trail you’ve walked and appreciate why certain things happened when they did. As well, the person one is continuously becoming, is the exact person who will better appreciate a highlight when they are at its doorstep.
Kat: You have a bunch of shows coming up in Ontario this August – what’s next after that?
Sean: MORE SHOWS! We’ve got a good handful of shows lined up for the Fall, as well as a few huge personal celebrations. But the show never truly stops, as we’ve had our sights set on next summer for a few months now. I am confident we will have an exciting end to the summer and an equally as exciting Fall/Winter before we rocket back into Spring of 2026!
