Dutch artist Inge Lamboo, recently released her new single “Call Out Your Name” featuring The Who’s Pete Townshend. “Call Out Your Name” is a powerful and dynamic track where Townshend’s iconic playing merges seamlessly with Inge’s emotional songwriting. This collaboration not only highlights Inge’s versatility as an artist but also proves how music can bridge generations.
Dutch singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Inge Lamboo is about to enter a new phase in her career. Known for her alt-pop sound embellished with country flares, Inge embraces nostalgic songs to create a distinct musical landscape. She has gained recognition through her unique mashups and covers on social media, catching the attention of artists such as Lindsey Buckingham, P!NK, and YUNGBLUD. With millions of views on TikTok and Instagram, Inge Lamboo has quickly become an artist to watch.
Her latest release “Call Out Your Name” is from her upcoming album, This Is How The Future Sounds, and is a special collaboration with Pete Townshend. After one of her mashups went viral on Instagram—where she performed “Do I Wanna Know” by Arctic Monkeys in the style of “The Chain” by Fleetwood Mac—Inge caught the attention of the legendary guitarist from The Who. What started as a spontaneous online interaction evolved into a remarkable musical connection. She gathers her courage and sends a message with her most indie song, “Call Out Your Name”. Two weeks later, Townshend responds with his contribution, a blazing guitar solo that he has patented.
The result is a powerful and dynamic track where his iconic playing merges seamlessly with Inge’s emotional songwriting. This collaboration not only highlights Inge’s versatility as an artist but also proves how music can bridge generations.

I had the opportunity to chat with Inge about her new single, working with Pete Townshend, her musical journey so far, and what’s next.
Kat: Your new single ‘Call Out Your Name’ features an iconic collaboration with Pete Townshend. Can you tell us how this partnership came about and what it means to you?
Inge: This collaboration with Pete Townshend all started thanks to… social media! Pete started following me on Instagram after I posted a mashup of Fleetwood Mac and Arctic Monkeys. The video was only 14 seconds long, but it led to a legendary collaboration. I find it really special that, just three years after my first release, I already get to work with such an icon.
Kat: What was your reaction when Pete Townshend responded to your request and contributed his signature guitar playing to the track?
Inge: I woke up one morning in the fall of 2024, and the first thing I saw was a message from him. I honestly thought I was still dreaming and said out loud, “No way!” After that, I walked around with the biggest smile on my face for days.
Kat: You mentioned the Morse code hidden in Pete’s guitar playing on the track. Can you elaborate on its significance or how it complements the song’s themes?
Inge: The title is actually hidden in the song as Morse code.. how often do you hear that? It just goes to show the originality in his playing and vision. Honestly, I probably would’ve been happy with a simple blues riff, but the Morse code and the authenticity in his playing really completed the song. That Morse code also adds a certain depth and intensity to both the meaning and the sound, which makes it fit Call Out Your Name even more perfectly.
Kat: How does ‘Call Out Your Name’ reflect the overall theme or tone of your upcoming album, This Is How The Future Sounds?
Inge: Compared to my debut album, this new one screams growth, taking risks, and trusting your gut. Call Out Your Name is the most indie-sounding track, but I still carry that signature DADGBd guitar tuning into the other songs. Authentic yet still catchy guitar parts, paired with honest lyrics; That’s the glue that holds the album together.
Kat: Your album combines alt-pop with country influences, and ‘Call Out Your Name’ has a dynamic blend of both. How do you approach fusing these styles to create such a unique sound?
Inge: I don’t really follow rules or listen too much to what others think. I just follow a feeling. And honestly, more people should do that. I also grew up listening to artists like P!nk. Most people know her for the hits, but if you dig deeper, you’ll find she’s never shied away from blues and rock. She really inspired me to break boundaries too, to blend different styles. I just love way too many genres!
Kat: What was the inspiration behind the lyrics and emotions of ‘Call Out Your Name,’ and how does it fit into your personal journey as an artist?
Inge: I wanted to express the feelings and thoughts I carried around as a teenager, unrequited love, falling for one of your best friends and how that messed up the friendship. Those moments will always be an inspiration for me, even though I’ve been with my girlfriend for a while now. It’s like I can always open a drawer and old diaries just come flying out, instantly bringing me back to those emotions. Add a heartfelt ode to blues music to all that, and you get Call Out Your Name.
Kat: You’ve caught the attention of major artists like Lindsey Buckingham and P!NK through your viral mashups on social media. How has social media shaped your career and led to opportunities like this?
Inge: I started by posting covers, and they quickly gained a lot of attention. That’s how I built a fanbase, and now people come to my shows. It’s crazy to think it all starts with one click of the “upload” button. I taught myself how to produce by reworking songs into different styles, like imagining the band Ghost in the style of Lana Del Rey. I love challenging myself and, just like on this album, I don’t want to be tied down to just one style.
Kat: Your mashup of Arctic Monkeys’ ‘Do I Wanna Know’ and Fleetwood Mac’s ‘The Chain’ went viral. What do you enjoy most about reimagining songs in such unique ways?
Inge: It always starts with curiosity. Most of the time, it just comes out of nowhere. I’m not actively searching for it. Those are always the best ideas, the ones that just fly into your head. It often starts when I’m just chilling on the couch, playing guitar. It’s when there’s no pressure. I call them my “musical brainfarts,” haha. It keeps me as curious about music as a child. I’m always looking for more, knowing that there’s always something to discover. It’s a nice escape from being an artist and writing songs. I get real satisfaction from it.
Kat: Your collaboration with Pete Townshend showcases how music can bridge generations. What do you think this partnership says about the timeless nature of music?
Inge: Aside from social media and the developments in modern music, I believe it always comes down to talent. Artists and creatives who started out driven by that spark they got from the art and music itself are always, even if unknowingly, searching for artists in the new generation who have that same passion. Music is in my blood, I can’t live without it, it’s always there, it moves me, it does something to me. I think Pete must’ve sensed that when I played that mashup. It’s an energy I pass on, and I hope to inspire others with it. Here’s to the new generation! Music is timeless.
Kat: With ‘This Is How The Future Sounds’ set for release soon, what are you most excited about sharing with your audience, and what do you hope they’ll take away from it?
Inge: Producing music on my tablet, just to show others that it’s totally possible! You don’t need the most expensive gear to belong in this world. Just go your own way and take the wildest steps in your life. That is how our future sounds.
