Actress Nikki Duval recently returned as Rosie Phillips in the final season of “Workin’ Moms” currently streaming on Netflix.
Nikki plays Rosie Philips, Kate Foster’s (Catherine Reitman) quirky left-hand woman, who first started working with Kate at the old public relations firm together, then joining her when she decided to branch out on her own and start her own company. This season we see more of Rosie as partner at Kate Foster PR.
Rosie is sweet, kind, and intuitive, always there to help Kate and ensure she does well. Her eagerness, loyalty, and sunny disposition make her difficult not to like, regardless of what she does.
Season 7 picks up where Season 6 left off, with the women confronting demons from their past in order to move forward into their future. Motherhood, relationships and career choices all will be put to the test as they come to terms with who they once were and where each is headed.

I had the opportunity to chat with Nikki about reprising her role, what fans can expect from the new season and more.
Kat: You’ve recently returned as Rosie Phillips in the final season of Workin’ Moms streaming now on Netflix. Did you discover anything about Rosie that surprised you? What can fans expect from her this season?
Nikki: A lot of Rosie’s journey throughout the years has surprised me. I never thought that her character would last this long, honestly. In Season 1, she was written as just a small side character to give a few laughs. It has been such a surprising journey year after year to read the new scripts and see where the show would take her. From getting fired in Season 3 (which when I read that episode- I one hundred percent thought that I was being written out of the show!), to then working in Kate’s basement, to then becoming a graphic designer and eventually partner in the firm! In Season 7, we definitely see Rosie have more confidence than ever before. It was fun exploring that side of her, while still maintaining the lovable people pleasing girlie she’s always been.
Kat: Was there anything about your role that was particularly challenging this season?
Nikki: I wouldn’t say challenging, but different from previous years. This Season, for the first time, she follows her own heart rather than trying to desperately please Kate. I was actually proud of her for standing up for what she believed was best. She’s usually the victim of being taken for granted, and this year she starts to prove that she’s more than just a little assistant!
Kat: What were some of your favorite scenes to shoot and why?
Nikki: We spent a whole day at a school fun fair that was really fun! We got to be in three-legged races, and had scenes in a bouncy castle. It was also the first time that the KFPR team was mixed in with the rest of the cast. It was a new and exciting dynamic! And also, (spoiler!) having scenes with Jessalyn Wanlim (Jenny) this year was my absolute favourite. That little story line is hilarious and she was a treat to work with!
Kat: Is there a type of character that you’d like to portray, that you haven’t had the chance to yet?
Nikki: I absolutely love doing comedy, but I would also love to do more dramatic work on screen. I started my acting profession in the theatre, where I explored both genres. I would love to get back to my roots and dive into some challenging emotionally charged material.
Kat: What can we expect from you for the rest of 2023?
Nikki: I just finished filming a Netflix Christmas movie called Meet Me Next Christmas, starring Christina Milian and The Pentatonix! It should be a cute, charming and funny movie, so stay tuned for that!
