This past Thursday, March 24th The Ontario Media Development Corporation held a red carpet event at the King West Hotel in support of Ontario’s 2017 Juno Nominees.
The Ontario Media Development Corporation (OMDC), is an agency of the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport, and is the central catalyst for the province’s cultural media cluster including book publishing, film and television, interactive digital media, magazine publishing and music industries.
Many artists in the music industry use OMF funding for diverse activities ranging from recording to marketing , touring and business development. OMF funds help artists and companies increase business capacity to allow them to grow and be more competitive in domestic and international markets.
One of their biggest supporters are The Arkells. OMF funding has helped them bring their shows to venues like Massey Hall and the First Ontario Centre with capacities of 10,000 plus. It has also allowed them to work with the best talent available, create better quality music and helped them reach larger audiences.
