Luminato Festival Toronto, Toronto’s international arts festival dedicated to performance, media and visual arts, and programming that cuts across traditional artform boundaries, is thrilled to announced the lineup of its first ever virtual festival which will run from 7 p.m. (EDT) Thursday, June 11 until 12 midnight (EDT) Saturday, June 13 and includes more than 20 hours of free programming, 4 world premieres and 4 works created specifically for the virtual edition.

Black Summers Night with Unit 2, Black Lives Matter Toronto & Tea Base

Black Lives Matter Toronto and community arts spaces Unit 2 and Tea Base come together to present Black Summers Night, a dance party with DJ sets by Bliptor, Casey MQ, Myst Milano, Raven’s Vision, Sofia Fly and Syrus Marcus Ware, and performances by Dainty Smith, Ravyn Wngz, Stephen Jackman and more. Black Summers Night is raising funds in support of BLM Toronto’s COVID-19 Black Emergency Support Fund.
CKLN Radio Hour with DJ Ron Nelson

Sultans of String’s Refuge

Artist and activist Ange Loft hosts a conversation inspired by Sultans of String’s newly released album Refuge, a collaboration with over 30 musicians, that addresses the challenges facing the world’s displaced peoples. Elder Duke Redbird, Ifrah Mansour, Waleed Abdulhamid and producer Chris McKhool will look at how refugees and displaced persons, particularly those who are artists, can guide us through the present moment and they will share new music videos from the project.

THE REVELATION welcomes you to leave it all behind with a late-night adventure into the world of burlesque, music and video installation.
Les Femmes Fatales is a burlesque troupe comprised of Black women, femmes and persons of colour. Their performances are a direct response to the collective changes we can already see in the world, and how, now more than ever, vulnerability, the sensual, and our collective expression are vital.
