Rising country singer-songwriter Ryan Langdon recently released his new single, “Crossfaded.” The track is a laid back party singalong that Langdon has stamped with his signature swagger and booming baritone.

Langdon is currently riding a wave of early success. Last summer, he performed at the CMAO Awards (Country Music Association of Ontario Awards) and enjoyed a nomination for Rising Star. Langdon’s debut EP, Lit in the Sticks, is slated for release this month and since releasing the EP’s title track in 2019, Langdon has garnered over 2 million cross-platform streams and charted Top 40 at Canadian Country Radio. On the EP, the Niagara Falls-based artist exudes a confident mix of earworm hooks, small-town trouble-making, and feel-good songwriting that positions him as one of country music’s most promising newcomers.

We had the opportunity to chat with Langdon and talk about his new single, what we can expect from his debut EP and how he’s staying connected during Covid-19.

Kat: Can you talk about the inspiration behind your new single “Crossfaded”?

Ryan: The legalization of Cannabis in Canada helped a little bit. We wanted to create a fun anthem-type song that captured the perfect night.

Kat: Can you talk about your songwriting process?

Ryan: It all started with the title that Emma-Lee (co-writer) came up with. The melody and hook came very quickly after that. Karen Kosowski and Emma-Lee are always great to write with because the ideas always flow so naturally.

Kat: Do you have any role models or music artists that inspire you? and if so, how they may influence your sound in any way?

Ryan: I have many inspirations and role models. I think my sound today has been inspired greatley by Artists such as Trace Adkins, Chris Young, Jason Aldean and Sam Hunt

Kat: Your debut EP, “Lit in the Sticks” is slated for release soon, what can we expect?

Ryan: You can expect big vocals, big sound, and catchy hooks. All of this will create the perfect country-summer soundtrack.

Kat: Obviously things have changed due to COVID-19. In the interim how are you connecting with your fans? What’s next?

Ryan: I have been doing alot of live streams over facebook and instagram. It’s great being able to chat with fans all over Canada and the US with just a click of a mouse.”
