Bright Lights Windsor Transforms Jackson Park Into A Festive Wonderland

Bright Lights Windsor returned this year, transforming Jackson Park’s sunken gardens and other areas into a festive nighttime wonderland, illuminated by hundreds of thousands of LED lights.

This year included more photo opportunities with special sections such as Candy Cane Lane, Rainbow Lane, Polar Blast, Windsor Way, Kid’s Central Station and Santa’s Workshop. The Proudly Canadian section featured a giant maple leaf symbol, a giant illuminated moose, and over-sized letters spelling out “EH.”

Celebrating the city’s cultural diversity, the Around the World section had lights in the style of Diwali, the Hindu festival of lights, as well as a Ramadan tree, Chinese lanterns, a large menorah, and backlit flags representing the many cultural communities of Windsor.

New this year, was the sensory friendly “Silent Nights” on Monday evenings from 5:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. in partnership with Autism Ontario Windsor Essex. The lights were on, but sound was muted, strobe elements paused and light dulling glasses available, so the display could be enjoyed in a peaceful environment that is accommodating to sensory sensitivities.
