As we look back on 2018 and our relationship with Crown Media & The Hallmark Channel, it’s clear that their timeless, feel good movies continue to resonate with our readers. Check out our Top 5 “Hallmark’ related posts for 2018.
We first created and posted this list in March, after noticing how popular the Hallmark royal movies had become. Royal fever was at an all time high this year with the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in May, as well as Princess Eugenie and Mr. Jack Brooksbank in October. All of these factors combined to create the perfect storm and our most popular Hallmark blog post of the year.
2. Preview: Time For Me To Come Home For Christmas (2018)
Our preview post for this new 2018 Christmas movie from Crown Media was our second most popular Hallmark related post of the year. Executive produced by Harvey Kahn, Orly Adelson, Michael Shepard and Blake Shelton, the film was based on the book ‘Time for Me to Come Home’ by Dorothy Shackleford and Travis Thrasher, and inspired by the same song from Blake Shelton.
3. Preview: Royally Ever After (2018)
“Royally Ever After” premiered on the evening of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s royal wedding (May 19th), making our preview post for the film one of our most popular. The film features Fiona Gubelmann (“The Good Doctor”) and Torrance Coombs (“Reign”) and was filmed on location in Ireland.
4. Exclusive: An Interview With Kevin McGarry From “A Song For Christmas” (2017)
In 2018 it was announced that Canadian actor Kevin McGarry would join the cast of Hallmark Channel’s popular “When Calls The Heart” series. This, combined with Hallmark’s “Christmas In July” which re-aired the 2017 Holiday movie “A Song For Christmas” (in which he stars), saw our interview with McGarry skyrocket in 2018. Clearly fans are excited, and with more movies coming out in 2019, our guess is this interview will continue to be popular for months to come.
5. 10 Hallmark Movies For Country Fans
After seeing how popular our royal list was, we decided to comb through and look at other trending Hallmark movie themes. The ‘country’ theme was a clear winner, and our list which features “A Country Wedding”, “Love In Paradise” and “Valentine Ever After” made into the top 5.
