Toronto native Témi (Tay-Me) returns just in time for summer with his new single “Dynamite” which will be released on July 13 via all digital retailers / Arrival Music Group. “Dynamite” combines a smooth piano intro, coupled with a sexy back beat, catchy arrangements and Témi’s distinctive vocals.
“A lot of songs and society in general tend to glorify men and their attainment of multiple women. Dynamite speaks to me in a way where even though it’s an up-tempo fun song, it shows the appreciation for one particular female that a man has”, says Témi. It takes us back to the time where a man had to take his time and focus his energy on just one woman to court her with the hopes of being with her. And sometimes it worked and sometimes it didn’t, but at least it said to this one woman that she’s special.”Fans have previously heard a soulful, serious side of Témi with “Where Your Heart Is” and his classic R&B soul sound on “Love It”. “Dynamite” was written by hip hop artist, JD Era and Témi, produced by Dub J (Q It Up Records) and a.n.g.e.l (Arrival Music Group) and is the perfect summer jam that explores love, desire, enjoying that one special person and the moments with them.
Formally with Disturbing the Peace/Def Jam Records and having toured with Ludacris, Témi has been a performer since the age of 5. He attributes his connection to music to his older brothers, who introduced him to the sounds of Motown in his early years.
Recently, Témi won the Best Breakout Artist award from the 2017 African Entertainment Awards and has plans to continue performing while putting the finishing touches on his new EP Alternative Soul.
