About The Movie:
Ten years after their long-distance relationship ended, high school sweethearts Maddie (Gonzalo) and Nate (McNally) reconnect when Nate, who is now a cardiologist, returns to their hometown to lecture at the hospital. Still hurt from their breakup, cupcake shop owner Maddie tries to avoid him while keeping her focus on securing funding to expand her shop with dedicated employee Chloe (Andrea Brooks, “When Calls the Heart”). With Nate’s persistence, they eventually form a friendship and he helps her with the shop to make amends for past behavior.
Maddie’s friend Sarah (Tammy Gillis, “Siren”) encourages her to date her business manager Alex (Victor Zinck Jr., “Motive”) but Maddie’s heart ultimately lies with Nate. Just as Maddie and Nate rekindle their romance, though, Nate learns that a career opportunity awaits him in Boston. Devastated to lose Nate again, and unwilling to walk away from the life she’s built in her cherished home town, Maddie returns the promise ring he gave her long ago and prepares for the grand reopening of her shop. When he arrives in Boston, Nate quickly realizes how much he left behind and must decide if his future lies in the city with work or in his hometown with Maddie.
