Cineplex recently announced the launch of ‘One Nighters @ VIP,’ a new series that will feature nostalgic, audience favourite films curated specifically for VIP Cinemas. The monthly events will bring back movies with loyal followings for the first time in VIP Cinemas, where guests can enjoy them in an all-new, luxurious way.
“We hosted an event last year on Mean Girls Day in our VIP Cinemas and the reaction from the audiences across Canada blew us away,” said Brad LaDouceur, Vice President, Event Cinema. “We realized there was a huge opportunity to create a specially curated series for audiences looking for a luxurious, fun and social night out – and ‘One Nighters @ VIP’ was born.”
One Nighters @ VIP will launch on August 21, 2017 with a screening of Dirty Dancing, on the day of the film’s 30th anniversary. For only $10, moviegoers will have the opportunity to bring friends together and indulge in all the perks Cineplex VIP Cinemas have to offer including a chef-inspired food menu, specialty crafted cocktails and extra-wide, comfortable seating.
In addition to Dirty Dancing, the One Nighters @ VIP line-up will also include beloved comedies such as Clueless, Mean Girls and Bad Moms with more titles announced throughout the year.
One Nighters @ VIP schedule to date:
Dirty Dancing – August 21, 2017
Baby (Jennifer Grey) is one listless summer away from the Peace Corps. Hoping to enjoy her youth while it lasts, she’s disappointed when her summer plans deposit her at a sleepy resort in the Catskills with her parents. Her luck turns around, however, when the resort’s dance instructor, Johnny (Patrick Swayze), enlists Baby as his new partner, and the two fall in love. Baby’s father forbids her from seeing Johnny, but she’s determined to help him perform the last big dance of the summer.
Clueless – September 11, 2017
Shallow, rich and socially successful Cher (Alicia Silverstone) is at the top of her Beverly Hills high school’s pecking order. Seeing herself as a matchmaker, Cher first coaxes two teachers into dating each other. Emboldened by her success, she decides to give hopelessly klutzy new student Tai (Brittany Murphy) a makeover. When Tai becomes more popular than she is, Cher realizes that her disapproving ex-stepbrother (Paul Rudd) was right about how misguided she was — and falls for him.
Mean Girls – October 3, 2017 (This screening takes place on Mean Girls Day)
Cady Heron (Lindsay Lohan) is a hit with the plastics, the A-list girl clique at her new school, until she makes the mistake of falling for Aaron Samuels, the ex-boyfriend of alpha plastic Regina George (Rachel McAdams).
Bad Moms – October 23, 2017
Amy (Mila Kunis) has a great husband, overachieving children, a beautiful home and a successful career. Unfortunately, she’s also overworked, exhausted and ready to snap. Fed up, she joins forces with two other stressed-out mothers (Kristen Bell, Kathryn Hahn) to get away from daily life and conventional responsibilities. As the gals go wild with their newfound freedom, they set themselves up for the ultimate showdown with PTA queen bee Gwendolyn and her clique of seemingly perfect moms.
