Discover: New “Golden Girls” Cafe “Rue La Rue”

Located at 4394 Broadway in New York, “Rue La Rue” is inspired “Golden Girls” Rue McClanahan, and  is operated by Michael LaRue, a close friend of McClanahan.

La Rue, inherited many of the star’s personal belongings, including her 1987 Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series, as well as pictures and other memorabilia related to the hit show which LaRue has used to decorate the cafe.

Items on the menu include:

  • “Dorothy’s salted caramel cheese cake”
  • The coconut “Betty White cake
  • “Sophia’s cure for depression cookies”
  • “Rue’s Orange Poppyseed Cake”(taken from McClanahan’s own recipe)
