Young Empires brought their tour to Toronto’s Mod Club this Saturday night, accompanied by Liverpool, UK’s Banners and the show did not disappoint.
Banners played to an enthusiastic crowd, who were just as excited to see him as they were to see Young Empires. It was my first time watching him perform live; he played an amazing show, delivering an animated and energetic set that included crowd favorites ‘Shine A Light’ and ‘Start A Riot’ (a personal fave of mine) from his EP.
It was hometown heroes Young Empires who sealed the deal for me, though. I’ve only seen them live once before, and the second time around was even better than the first. The crowd loved them, there’s was lots of interaction with fans, and overall was a fun experience. The band played a long set that included ‘Uncover Your Eyes’ and finished off with my favorite track, ‘The Gates’, before coming back for an encore.
If you you weren’t at this show then you surely missed out, so I highly recommend watching out for Banners and Young Empires, and seeing them as soon as you can.
