Jennifer is currently completing her MFA at OCAD University in Toronto, in the Interdisciplinary Masters of Art and Design program.
A trans-disciplinary artist Jennifer has been acting for twenty years has curated multiple exhibitions and regularly shows her work. She is also a founding member of Blunt Collective which exhibits her work internationally.
Jennifer’s emergent practice engages reflexive embodiment through painting, research and teaching. Her current paintings are created in an experiential maximalist approach, rooted in painting, that enables a reflexive topology with material.
Some of our favorite pieces of Jennifer’s work are below:
North Star
Paint Pods, reclaimed acrylic paint scabs, plexi glass, 2015
Paint Knot, Mis-tint House Paint, 2015
“If Ever I Saw Your Face” Portrait of Gordon Pinsent, 36″ x 46″, oil on panel, 2011 Winner Star Portraits
Jennifer’s art is beautiful, thought provoking and imaginative, and embodies everything that our #WomanCrushWednesday stands for.
